Fisherman's Friend

By michaelcombe
The first of my uploads from a trip to the Highlands.

This was captured at Glencoe Lochan, a little off the beaten track but certainly accessible.

The woodland was planted by Lord Strathcona in the nineteenth century in an attempt to recreate the Pacific NorthWest for his homesick native-American wife.

A lochan nestles in the centre of the wood surrounded by majestic conifers and rugged mountains.
The Pap of Glencoe is peeking it's head over the top of the trees.

Yeah, it did take a bit of finding! Once you're parked at the Forrestry Commission car park it's less than a five minute walk. Except it took me half an hour as I went the wrong way!
