The third in my series of Photos of Shawhead. This time, a panoramic shot of Glenkiln Reservoir, used as a public water supply for parts of Dumfries and Galloway.
It's an interesting reservoir - as it is a great spot for walking, the public are allowed to wash in it! The photo was taken around 7am, a bit too early for folk to be up washing though... well, apart from the families of ducks who live at the reservoir. The slip (on the right) doesn't get used much, and is quite mossy.
The reservoir has quite a few secrets, one of which will be part of this series. The image is stitched together from 4 photos with plenty of overlap. I liked the split between wet and dry, and also the reflection of the morning sun just at the end of the water.
You'll notice I write plenty for my images! Please check out the series, each image will explore something new about the area... think I could write enough for a book!
Enjoy, as always (I hope!)
