One day, Man will dream of flight. Then he'll get bored, and dream instead of cheap flight.

By midgemckay
An odd shot. I had it planned for a trip down to London, intending to get a photo of an awakening city as it was the good ol' red eye flight. Noticing the reflection of the man in front (who was quite obviously taking advantage of that 30 minute chance for a sleep) I thought it would sum up nicely what flying has become. People don't get excited about it anymore - I'd much rather look out the window, but I see I am one of the fewSad

Brightness and contrast adjusted a little bit to take some of the reflections away. Photo was at around 6.30am.

It was 6.30am... there's not a lot to see at that time in the morning Tongue When I tried adding a bit of brightness to it it didn't look too good, though as I say there isn't much ground activity so early on. It's a shame I won't get many chances for a photo like it, don't fly too oftenSad

Thanks for leaving criticism though, that's what this site should be built onSmile Cheers Ian!

Sorry to be disparaging, and thanks for your comment on 'barb'. I make a big effort to look at the darker photos 'cos often as thumbnails (amd even at this size) they don't show the real quality of the shot. What's great about this site is that it illustrates just how subjective art can be!

That's very true, to be honest at full size there isn't much more to see  I don't think there is anything disparaging at all - the only 'bad' comments are ones that say "I don't like it" Tongue

Well Midge, I like the idea. This kind of shot stands up better in a series though. "People and how they react to flying" or something more creative Smile. Seeing something deeper than just another pretty cityscape and relating that to a "human" moment is definitely the right path!

Nice idea Doug, if you see a few more photos about folk flying in future you can take the credit Wink

My favourite one. I really like what you were trying to show, I think it works really well. Very effective, it says a lot.

Well done : )

I'd actually looking at this for the first time on a darker monitor and I've realised how little the city lights show up Sad Well, at least you liked it Marwah Wink
