Hi folks-I am probably on here for the wrong reason as I do not take my photography ''too seriously''.I have a strange subject matter for my pics, namely rust and grot !! I do enjoy commenting on your images, but I do like to inject a little brand of humour,so please do not take them too seriously either.I just think life is too short,so lets make the best of it !!

Hi Mick!
I really enjoy your lighter, and fun view of things. So much of photography is sometimes dark or blend...
Your work is a real treat, different, unique, and inspirational. I have learned with you to look at the beauty of rust and have a go at going for rusty images.
My father was a blacksmith in the village, and from childhood rust was mostly what we could find in his shop! If only I had a camera then! Grin

I love your Pf Mike.
I didn't initially understand why people talked about grot. But you certainly have a way of turning that which most would discard as being of no consequence into something treasured and to be admired. Congratulations, not only for your very obvious photography skills, but also for your unique ability to make us look at things differently.

Wonderful PF showing such dedication to your subject and a unique eye for the crusty and crumbly around us. Thank you for your recent comments
I like a bit of grot myself but lack your dedication. All the best Nick
Mike what a great selection of Rusty items, these photos are such fun, but as John above says they are also really well composed and well thought, you obviously have a good eye for a photo. These photos would make great novelty Greeting Cards!!!. Love your header.

Yes, Mick, I certainly did notice your header....such a waste of good men....I just hope I can bring a shred of good cheer to them. Britain has a Quilts of Valor program, too. Women from all over are trying to make a difference in the small way that they can. You have done them justice in that photo.
Your PF is full of well spotted, well thought out and well executed images that breathe imagination and reflect a mature yet fun loving approach to photography. No careless 'snaps' but well chosen details that most people would not notice. You dont just look - you SEE!!
Having a clearly defined specialism is much more satisfying that just 'clicking away' at whatever comes up!
Best regards and happy rust hunting Smile
PS: Whoops - just seen that I already left a comment in June. No harm done I think.

Yes Mick that is serious decay so well recorded.

Re my upload...the last time you had a steamy night in Leith was when you ran your bath water too hot.
lost for words seriously, just amazing!!!! love everyone of the rustic pics, outstanding, where do you find all this rust, i want some Tongue

Excellent "outside the box" images and not the picture postcard stuff Mike.
Think that the heading for the gallery image, heading your portfolio should read:-

YOU!!!! Orrible little man, 5th from the front. Yes YOU!! EYES front! What do you think you are looking for? ... RUST?

Keep up the great work.
Dear MIKE,there are many great images in your superb portfolio, I have learn alot.

Nice gallery!! I agree with you....sometimes, the "off the wall" makes more sense!!! Love your imagination!
What a superb eye you have for interesting detail. You have the gift of making a good image out of things which others would never see and walk on by. A very 'different' portfolio.
You certainly have an eye for photography

Bolt from the Blue. Nice to see simple subject matter. Too many people do landscapes and after a while they all seem to be much alike. keep up the good work. Rusty metal and man made shapes that change colour with age allways interests me.

Hello Mike,
Thanks for your comment about my Saltire in the Sky. I was out walking the dog and, of course, had my camera with me.

Just had a look at your very interesting, historic, imaginative and colourful portfolio and find it very interesting, historic, imaginative and colourful.......will keep a look out for your work.
Thanks again,

Having just came across your work...i have to say i find it facinating and very real .... true talent...tks for sharing ...mairi

I have watched your portfolio with interest, appreciation and curiosity. You are such a talented man and I believe that your "different" work is close to becoming a mainstream interest. By this I mean that many EPZers are likely to have their eyes and hearts opened by your work.

Thank you for your supportive comments and observations too.

Hello and Welcome to the club. I see here a good imagination and look forward to the surprises you will bring to the site. Nice sharp work too.

Best wishes
