A beautiful shot, Mike. The light source picking out half the tulip is excellent and helps to add the sparkle to the water droplets. So well arranged in the frame too and with the black b/g adding to the overall effect. I wouldn't dream of offering a modification as I doubt if this could be improved in any significant way. Very nice work indeed.

A very nice shot Mike, nicely lit and detailed.

A couple of suggestions as in the mod:

Consider rotating horizontally to it "reads" left to right; its a little too tight in the frame (this is how it came out of the camera) so it improves the composition if you add some extra black canvas to the right and left, while retaining the tulip on a third; try a more open frame, - a tight back frame can appear constrictive.

Hope this is helpful,

regards

This is excellent Mike. Simple composition and lovely colour. If I was being extremely picky I might have been looking for just a weeny bit more definition of the flower on the shadow side. But it's a lovely shot.

Best wishes

very nicely done! you certainly acieved the effect you wanted, iv cropped a little closer to make use of the lines formed by the stem and larger leaf, and got rid of some of the canvas particularly bottom, finally i applied a warming filter lba 40% density to warm the flash.
hope this is helpful to you

Thanks John (rubyblue)
Adding the warming filter really helped, I like it,
must remember to use this more often.
