spinning top

By Mike_Long
Very tricky trying to capture this subject, keeping it in one place while spinning and getting the refection clear was not easy, this is the best of about 300 shots, any advice on how I could make the shot clearer?

This looks like a great idea, and I can't believe you took so many shots. Why would you want it to be clearer? I would expect to see a spinning top very blurred, simply because it is spinning. If you want it sharp, don't spin it. If you want a sense of movement, have it blurred. A slow shutter speed would give you the blur. I actually think this image isn't blurred enough. The reflection is great, the background beautifully clean. I hope you understand my reasoning.

How can you make it clearer? Is the idea not to show a blurred spinning top? I'm afraid, after the initial interest, things die away quite quickly. It is good to see someone trying something different, but 300 shots - I wouldn't waste too much more time.

Depends on what you mean by "clearer"?

Ive loaded a mod where Ive applied a load of sharpening, and brightened it, so it looks a little clearer by my definition, but Id like to know precisely what you mean.

As stated above, the top is spinning, so you will get a sense of blur, UNLESS you want to stop the movement, which means a very high speed shutter, or a flash shot. This will freeze action, but you will lose the sense of movement that you have here.
