I have a Jay today, thank you for all your clicks and comments on my previous shots. Its really hot here again, but weather forecast said tomorrow has to be the hottest day of the year so far, i dont mind the sunshine but i hate sleeping when its this hot. I think i will sleep in car tonight then i can turn on the air conditioning and be nice and cold hahaha.

Although they are the most colourful members of the crow family, jays are actually quite difficult to see. They are shy woodland birds, rarely moving far from cover. The screaming call usually lets you know a jay is about and it is usually given when a bird is on the move, so watch for a bird flying between the trees with its distinctive flash of white on the rump. Jays are famous for their acorn feeding habits and in the autumn you may see them burying acorns for retrieving later in the winter.

Great capture Mike and wonderful detail, i have two Jays in the garden and because there was no acorns last year it has cost me a small fortune in peanuts to keep them fed. Grin
