Waterjag

By mike35420
I created the image from two photos. The first subject was the Jaguar bonnet ornament. Originally a colour image that I desaturated and boosted the contrast in photoshop. The second component was a project from the Digital Photo magazine in the form of a strawberry dropped into a vase of water. I kept the top of the vase, inverted the vortex, extended the vortex and then combined the Jaguar ornament at the top. I was aiming for something on the lines of the liquid Terminator from the film whereby the Jaguar appears to be morphing from the water.

Its well done Mike, and a nice idea.

Looking objectively at it, - whats missing?

Sparkle, shine, contrast, - it looks a little dull.

So in the mod, Ive made black = black, and white = white, applied sharpening, cropped to place more room on the left, and painted over the edge of the container with white. All quite easy to do, but it makes quite a difference.

If you need any help with doing this, let me know.

Regards

Willie

A superb idea, but a little flat for my liking, hence the modification is a welcome improvement. It needs the contrast to really make it stand out.

Yes, a brilliant idea and your skill in that suggest that you should be able to give the contrast a boost. It does need that. It lacks the visual punch that takes it from clever to excellent.
