A Box-tree moth.

By mike9005
Thanks to Alfie_P for your UA. Thanks to everyone for your kind, humorous comments and votes for yesterday.
Back to flat earth, I spotted this stowaway in my garden yesterday. I say stowaway because it appeared in this country in the county of Kent in 2007, Plus Fife, in Scotland in 2018. Apparently, having been transported by ship from either China or the Korean part of the world, with a timber consignment. It is tiny, with a wingspan of 40mm, though mine looked half of that. I was really lucky to spot it and have it land long enough for me to photograph, though the sun wasn't in my favour. But beggers cannot be choosers.

Pretty moth, but let's hope it's not an invasive species.
Excellent picture of it anyway.

Quite a rare moth, according to your notes. Lucky to spot it as quite small, but a super capture with all its details nicely displayed.

A very attractive moth Mike ...with an interesting story.
Like Peter mentioned hopefully it is a harmless invader!
Cheers Walt
