One of these rainsleeves takes up such a small amount of room in your camera bag...

  • Posted on: Peak Design Capture Camera Clip Review

I carry my Nikon D7000 with atatched 24-300 VR lens in a bag I bought from Halfords.
It clips onto a special bracket on my bike handlebars and clips off when I get there.
The clip stays permanently on my bike and the bag is carried effortlessly over my shouder.
....the bag cost me £10...I much prefer it to the "camera clip"

  • Posted on: 15 Essential Zoo Photography Tips

Reluctant as I am to think I can teach PB anything about photography:

...It is not always necessary or even possible to get close to the wire.
I speak from a great deal of zoo photography...perhaps even more than Pete himself Smile

I find that the most important thing is to have a medium zoom "wide open" then focus on your subject through the bars...don't worry if you cannot get close to the wire.
If you pick up the and re-focus again and again ...keep trying.

Granted a lot depends on where the light is coming from but if the light is right and you keep trying you will often lose the wire completely.

For years I used an Epson photo, R200 printer with stunning results useing 3rd party inks, but it finally packed up and having read so many good things about Canon I bought the iP3600.

After the first print I regretted the move away from Epson, the Canon is not a patch on my Epson.

  • Posted on: ePz Member Challenge - Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR

I found this editorial extremely interesting, perhaps more'so because Chester zoo is one of my stamping grounds and I visit some 2 or 3 times a month.

If the Finepix HS10, due for release in April, had not been announced I could have been tempted with thS200EXR.

..however I will almost certainly get the HS10 and while this is not a foregone conclusion, if I find that I can get adequate quality shots I shall sell my SLR and lenses....I'm never 'gonna be one of the great photographers anyway.

I rarely drive a car, prefering to travel by bike and despite what some of these youngsters say, for me carrying a heavy camera and lens in not easy and tends to spoil the day.
