Stork-billed Kingfisher

By MikeRC
Hello again....this is another shot from my recent trip to Goa,
... "Stork-billed Kingfisher"
Obviously so called because of it's massive red bill.
These guys grow to a huge size...38cm. so they probably catch bigger fish than a lot of you fishermen.
Thanks for looking and thanks for your clicks and kind comments.
regards....Mike

That's a cracker of a beak - and a beautiful photograph of a rather strange looking bird.

What a truly outstanding bird, so glad you got this fabulous picture. I envy you your trip to Goa, I just love their curries, takes me back to my three months in Kenya - 1985 - where there are lots of Goans.
