Flower macro

By mikewatson
I used my Sigma 100mm macro lens to obtain this flower, which I borrowed from my wife's display.
I was trying to get as much depth of field as possible at such a close distance, so used a tripod and cable release and f16 aperture.
I used a neutral coloured back drop with the daylight from behind and a fill in reflector for the foreground, this helped to emphasise the stem and fibre hairs also.

A well written and informative pre-narrative, and an equally stunning image.
