Cracking shot Miles, makes me realise how bad my shots were, don't know if i underexposed them but something has gone wrong. Anyway this is super! What grad did you use and where did you focus if you don't mind me asking as i seem to be having probs . Steve.

You beat me by 10 seconds Miles. Mine was 20! This is an absolute cracker of a shot. I love the wide angle seems to suck everything into the foreground. I love this place, will never get bored of shots from Kimmeridge.

By the way, I finally did some testing on my polariser for vignetting. At F22, with 2 filter slots plus the polariser I got serious vignetting at 18mm, a tiny bit at 19mm and nothing at 20-21 whatsoever! Of course, it is hard to judge exactly where these lengths are on the lens, but if you move to mid way between 18-24 then you can afford to go back out a little bit and you will be safe. Hope that helps - it might save me getting the thing filed down after all!!

Phew,
Adam.

Thanks for the comments...

Steve, This was 30 secs at F22 and a Lee 0.6 ND grad used. Focusing was done manually on the rocks middle left. It actually appeared darker than this to me at the time I was taking it.

Adam, thanks for that. You will be (amused) glad to know that I have decided that Velvia still beats digital hands down. You can't beat that WOW factor when you first look through the slides. Smile

Hi Miles - excellent use of the wide angle . Interested to read Adam's comments as I had the same experience with the polariser - ok from 20mm. - steve

hey Miles. you're right. you just cant beat the WOW factor when looking at slides. Plus you'll never get that wide with most digital gear. I miss the wide angles myself. 18mm on my 10D is equivalent to a poxy 28mm , although you still get the 18mm perspective, which is something. great shot by the way. beautiful velvia colours and a super composition. clicked
