Miles, this is a fantastic shot, brilliantly captured with just enough light defining 'spot' areas of the landscape...I must say I have never seen Corfe Castle in these conditions. Wish it was in my portfolio!!!

Miles, an excellent shot. I'm trying to work out where you took the shot from, most of the vantage points I know / use are lower than the castle. This one gives a very dramatic angle and the lighting is fantastic.

Thank you for your comments, Brian, this is taken from 3/4's of the way up the hill on the Wareham side of Corfe (Knowle Hill??) You can park your car at the bottom of the hill and walk up the path on the hill. This time of year is good for the low angled light, and the fairly frequent heavy mists! Incidentally it is also where the photo of the spider in my portfolio was taken, so if you are feeling brave...

Miles, thanks for the information. I know the hill, I hadn't realised it was so high.

Some spider, my wife would run a mile!

Own up Miles! This is a screen shot from the final 'Lord of the Rings' isn't it :0)

The thumbnail jumped out at me and the shot didn't disappoint.

Thank you all for your comments. Makes hauling a very heavy camera bag up the sodden hill all worth while.

Look at all this good feedback on one little picture :o)
I think we're all a bit jealous Miles, this is a fantastic image - what an atmosphere it has.
I tried it cropped above the hill so there wasn't any sky and it makes another good picture, real mystical Middle Earth feel to it.

Missed this one Miles, not sure how mystical and moody or what. Love the exposure and whole feel of this image.

Excellent! You really do know what you're doing. I noticed you take a lot of shots with mist. I wonder - did you add this effect in, or was it there already? Either way, you've captured awe-inspiring images.

The actual landscape itself is stunning, but the mist really draws you into the shot and creates a great atmosphere.

I think I'll be visiting your portfolio a lot! I could learn so much from your work.

Take care,
Iain.
