Pure nostalgia Miles. Excellent subject for monochrome treatment and I like the composition.

Lovely shot miles!
perfect in B&W and nicely cropped. "I like the frame too"! Colour would certainly detract from the nostalgia.
Are those two, actually flight crew, or are they purely for aesthetic value?

Tea and stickies anyone?

This photo really caught my eye.
I love aircraft and the spitfire in particular.
The toning, darkening of the skies and the composition all add to the story effect of the picture.
Really nice, like it a lot!

Love it. great sense of nostalgia, and looks like a genuine 40's image.
I can't believe I missed this shot myself.
Nice one Miles.

Thanks for all the positive comments on this one. These people are some of the enthusiasts who dress up in period clothing and wander around the flightline at Duxford getting photographed. It was a burning hot day, and it must have been killing to wear all that sheepskin and just walk up and down the line of aircraft, this group were having a quick rest in the shade under a spitfire wing, and I couldn't resist the chance to get the shot without anything modern in the frame.
