Future King

By Miles Herbert
This is a grab shot of Zambar, the Amur Tiger cub at Marwell. Although he is a clown at the moment, Tigers are the biggest of the cats, and Amurs are the biggest of the tigers...so one day this clown will be a King.

I usually try to keep the fencing out of shot, but didn't have time to move round to put a neutral background behind him.

Nice one, Miles! (click)
The fence is just one of those things - to have moved, you would have missed the moment which is what has made this shot!

I know what you mean about the neutral background but it's still a super capture. Clown or otherwise I don't think I'd mess with him! The 50-500 seems to be a very good lens, you've caught some great animal shots with it recently.

Thanks for the comments.

Yes he has Brian, there are actually some brand new cubs at the moment, when they are allowed out to play outside of the nesting box that is...

Wow Miles! Not only excellent landscapes but magnificant animals as well! Kind of puts a tiny squirrel right back in its box!
This is fantastic - maybe I'll change my mind about animals and wildlife!

Excellent shot Miles. How do you like that lens. I'd like to have something like that for the wildlife in the Rockies.
