Well done Miles - I took a similar shot last week. This is so much better! Just the right amount of dof and a scale you can see the eye detail.

Excellent macro Miles - I would love to see the shot of you taking it! You can see the narrowness of the DOF you have to work with by the bridge. - steve

That's great Miles. The Sigma 105 Macro seems like a good lens - I use a Canon 100mm Macro myself but I'm just thinking of getting a reverse adapter for my 50mm lens so I can get in really close!

Really enjoy looking at your shots.

excellent shot Miles, which gets closer, a macro or a reversed 50mm lens, also, did you use an extention tube with the macro? i'm not sure of the best route into the macro world?

A reversed 50mm will get you closer, but will obviously lose autofocus etc. No extension tube used, though I'm thinking of getting some. Thanks for the comment.
