Where'd it go

By Miles Herbert
Tongue in cheek... Having lugged everything up the hill, the mist closed in...

Nice open and dramatic backdrop - and original, Miles. Could do with being a bit brighter IMHO.

I really like this Miles. The way the tripod stands in the foreground really makes what could have been a dull photo of misty valleys, into quite a dramatic image. The border also adds to the effect.

Is this a camera on a tripod shot of a camera on a tripod? Very original!

Don't you just hate it when that happens. I was in Kos recently and spent a few hours climbing a mountain so I could get a great view of other Greek islands. As I approach the summit the clouds came down and the Island had its worst storm in 15 years!!! I didn't see a thing.

I think this calls for POTW . Glad you took two cameras Miles. As Pollyanna said there's Always something to be glad about . I am glad you took this picture. It tells a story and makes me smile that you still had the guts to take a photo. Well done . If you throw a stick he'll come running !

Miles the more I look, the better this picture stands out, original...nice lighting on the tripod, just enough to give it presents.. just shows, it was worth the climb up!!!! I like your congenial sense of humour....POTW...see setter see Mavis....

UGH... reminds me of my trip to Alaska this summer. I took a 5 hour bus ride to Wonder Lake to the base of Mt. Mckinley and although upon leaving the sky was crystal clear, by the time I arrived at photo-range the clouds had become so thick you could only see the base of the mountain. I was so ticked off, AND I had an opportunity for a salvage photo that I did not realize until after the trip was over...

This past weekend, I also went on a 3 mile hike to take some sunset photos in SW Pennsylvania and I arrived at the overlook about 5 minutes after the sun dissappeared behind the mountains...

Anyway, nice job salvaging an otherwise dissappointing climb Smile

I think 'ironic' is the word. The idea is more important than the image and the image is great. Like the grass in the foreground too.
