A quick view of mipettin's recent activity.

  • X marks the spot.

Like it - would consider cropping the top to remove the intruding tree and make the composition a bit more dynamic - i.e. take horizon off centre

Vignette is a bit heavy for me on the left hand side and I feel the image would look better with masking of this vignette both to the left edge and the right edge. Good moody mono though and a location I have visited once but it was pouring with rain.

    Hi Bugdog

Equivalent of 5 stops on the sky (3 stop ND used) and some blending of two exposures post lightroom. The image has been warmed up in post processing and the rusty wreck lightened a little. Sky had a pink hue though.

    Canon DSLR
    17mm focal length (35mm equivalent)
3 stop graduated filters - neutral density
Warm up filter in post production + diffusion
Dark vignette added to emphasise drama.

    Hope that's helpful

    Hi Matt

Was taken at last light. Yep a bit overdone due to the polariser which was used to cut out some light to get some movement in the blades. Been to Glencoe today - just about to head home - with luck have an interesting take on a well known landmark!

That's amazing, I think it is more dramatic with a panoramic crop to lose the tree line. Cheers, Martin
