Cenote Diving - Dos Ojos - Mexico

By mitchellhatpeg
One of my personal favourites from our visit to a second Cenote, known as Dos Ojos (translating into English as 'Two Eyes'). It certainly made my two eyes pop out of my head as I went around taking photos.

Unlike our first Cenote visit, this location has far fewer occasions where light beams penetrate down through the water. It's more about the stalagmites and stalactites.

This image was taken on my Canon G9X Mkii in RAW format. Shutter speed was 1/40 second and ISO 6400, because the only lighting is from the dive torches...otherwise it's virtually pitch dark.

If you're wondering where all the digital noise is, I used Topaz Denoise in the post processing. It's wonderful software that makes otherwise very noisy images good enough for printing.

Nicely processed and a fabulous subterranean underwater image, which is even better viewed large. A worthy guest editor award winner!
