Moonrise over Lake Blanche

Lake Blanche in northern Utah is one of those holy places in these mountains. Popular because of its raw beauty the hike there is NOT for the faint of heart. For myself and my friend Jeff, it was a four hour slog up one of the steepest, rockiest trails in the area. This trail is rated "difficult" for good reason! By the time we arrived at the summit I was suffering massive cramps in both legs and would probably have been crushed by a huge moose whose path I was in! This moment was captured before the drama as we came around a clearing into utter astonishment...moonrise over Lake Blanche.

P.S. I was so exhausted I had to watch in utter disbelief unable to take a picture as some of the most gorgeous light with this moon over the mountains erupted over the summit. Sad You win some...
