The Churches of Old

By mlseawell
A couple of days ago my wife and I made our first trek to New Mexico! We wanted to experience something different and New Mexico fit the bill.So we hit Farmington first followed by Taos and now we are in Sante Fe. Sante Fe awaits tomorrow but Taos, now this was gorgeous! The landscapes on the Scenic Road were to die for but this morning we went to the Taos Pueblo, and ancient native American village was most likely constructed between 1000 and 1450 A.D. San Geronimo, or St. Jerome, Chapel was completed in 1850 to replace the original church which was destroyed in the War with Mexico by the U.S. Army in 1847. My wife and I were blown away by the stunning beauty of this sacred place, inside and out and the moon setting in the background added to the magic...the churches of old.
