Prayer time

By mmz_khan
This picture was taken at Bhutan at a monastery. These three Grandmas was busy with their prayer activity and all off a sudden they start laughing when they notice I was taking their picture.

Main file is added in Mod for reference...

And the child is totally perplexed by it all, that's the joy of it!

You've done a nice job in editing this. Just tone down saturation on reds a little (because you are losing some detail there), and get rid of the green bits top right. Otherwise it's fine.

I've added two modifications, the first is your processing with the two adjustments as above, the second is worked from your original. It's a bit underexposed, and it needs a small rotation.

We are not seeing the Exif data, which would be useful.

Thanks. I was wondering if the shutter speed might be just a bit too slow for the ladies' movement. I'd have preferred a wee bit faster.

A lovely candid. Is that a part of a video camera on the left in the original? Ive filled it in rather than crop.

Mods are done using the original, less contrast, the red jacket desaturated a little, exposure increased where the people are.

Mod 2 has recovered a little of the detail in the wall.

You have captured a light-hearted moment which is rather pleasing. I would have preferred to have seen a bit more on the left to place the lady on the left more central. Please see mod 6. Regards.

Thanks all for your comments and Mod.

Wille @ Yes. Your ps is flawless. I tried and my ps work was not that good. so i took the easy way. cropped it.

Very interesting but that strong slightly less than natural colouring again? Are you over processing or is the camera set up for the high saturation? I would crop more of the top - the building roof , being light coloured, pulls attention a bit.

It is over saturated. I was trying to play with the saturation and try to find a optimum point. I think i need to reduce the saturation more to make it acceptable...

A possible solution... Shoot with natural or portrait colour, and don't mess with it unless you particulalry want somethign stronger.

I think in terms of film, still: a lot of people loved Fuji Velvia's strident colours: I always preferred the soft and muted hues that Agfachrome Professional slide film gave. Gentle is usually good.
