We need a bit more information to comment fully. This looks over exposed and I suspect a very high ISO due to the lack of contrast and heavy blue cast. The deep shadows should be black ideally to give the image some bite.

What is the subject? Ideally, you need something dominant on which to base your composition. A focal point.

Actually, this works for me. Very atmospheric: I can almost feel the chill of the evening!

There seems to be a very slight tilt - half a degree anticlockwise sorts it.

There is a definite blue tinge to the shadows, which seems wrong to me - easily fixed by using Levels to darken the midtones.

There isn't a subject, other than the colours, and the tree and ground framing the sky. That's fine, in a minimalist composition.

Certainly, there's digital noise in there, and it's not wonderfully sharp. But that isn't spoiling my enjoyment of the picture.

Though i would always advocate stopping, and getting out of the car - windscreens aren't great for shooting through, and can in themselves cause loss of contrast and definition, especially if they are a little dirty.

@dudler: Thank you! The car was moving unfortunately, and I had just woken up from sleeping in the car 2 minutes prior so I wasn't very quick on my behalf!
@Paul: I was trying to catch the sunset, but it was difficult through a car window haha
Thank you both!

I really like this. Every picture needs a subject but the subject can be the atmosphere created. Here it's moody, subdued. And there's that feeling of passing through, not getting involved. I'd like to see the Exif and I'd like to know what processing has been done, but it's not essential. The crop is the key - it's suggestive, it's like a curtain opening on an empty stage, just as we are about to leave the theatre.

The lights are from people's homes, there are lives and stories going on...

Blue works, I wanted to try straight b&w, for a stronger night time atmosphere. Just as an alternative.

Thank you @Moira, you've looked into this photograph so much more than I could have ever looked into it!

I really get the sense of a bitterly cold sunset from this - excellent with only 2 mins to prepare ! I like it as it is but couldn't resist tinkering with it. Mainly tried lightening the foreground slightly with some slight cropping.

Thank you Geoff, it was actually quite difficult to get prepared for this photo! Haha
