Slimbridge Heron

By Glostopcat
A grey heron fishing for its lunch at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge, this one was taken over the Christmas holiday on a visit there with fellow epzer gary_d. This heron wasn't in the least bit bothered at the number of people around and was intent on seeing what he could catch in one of the large ponds in the main grounds. Many thanks to Kathryn "KathrynLouise", John "Lifesnapper", Lillian "Lillian", Dave "Dave87" and Matt "Herge88" for the user awards on yesterdays upload "Slimbridge Singing Robin" they are greatly appreciated, Ed

Nice shot of a beautiful bird Ed.
I was hoping to go to Middleton Lakes, Nr Tamworth to photograph the Heronry there this week, but doesn't look promising.

Superb image - thought it was taken with your new camera.
Could you take an image with both cameras one day so we can see the comparison?
Lovely light on the Heron.
