The Golden Smile

By monkeygrip
This is Maddi with a great big smile on her birthday.

A very busy period again for me so uploads are a rare event although every now and then I get to do what I enjoy most and photograph a big bunch of smiling happy beautiful kids.

The old 50mm f1.4 and big gold reflector combo again, love it.

Hope you like this one see you soon.

Thanks Dave

I know what you mean mate things have changed tried to have a moan about it a few months ago but just not able to get on here enough to do anything about it.

I had a look through the main gallery today I think I voted 3 times in 9 pages and none of those votes inspired me to make a comment.

Not being a photographic snob as I still want to get better myself just disappointed by the quality that is allowed to be uploaded again not every shot needs to be a master piece and some can be fun but at least show a small amount of control.

How you produce your stuff mate still blows me away.

Like the soft skin tones here Stu.
I found your comment interesting.
I have commented myself,(and it is in my portfolio description),that I do not take my photography ''too serious'',but still hope there is a place for me on the site.I hope there is a place for everyone to take what they can from the site !!

Thanks Mick

Your stuff is great mate and always a surprise that you can find rust anywhere lol.

My comment is aimed at the hundreds of what I call Facebook snapshots that seem to be clogging up the gallery and collecting votes and yet a controlled shot from any of us doesn't seem to be looked at any more.

I certainly don't take myself too seriously mate lol but the minimum requirement to upload must be a love of photography doesn't matter how good you are or think you are.

Sorry mate just a frustrated rant because it is guys like you and Dave amongst others that gave me the encouragement and great helpful comments that made me want to get better we need more people like you on this site.

Thanks Stu,your reply is appreciated and I can see your point.
I see many terrific images on the site, and even I wonder why it has not got more votes.
I can see how it must be frustrating for the ''authors'' of these images, and I know of a couple
of members who have left the site for this reason !!
Keep up the good work, and try and keep your chin up too.
