thank you so much for having the braveness to put such awesome stunning images with such true deep meaning to them that make the viewer stop and think and feel the emotion. looking at this i can really feel and understand the pain and suffering of the subject and it easily has the same visual impact as that of a photo of someone with a big beaming smile on their face - life isn't just 100% happy and images like this that stand out from the crowd and tell the truth are the ones that deserve to be supported. award images like this with an EC more often instead of just yet another saturated sunset boat or perfect model in a rundown warehouse.

My, "technique," is to try and stay away from theatrics and lose all vanity in order to expose a real, raw emotion/feeling/mood. Technically-speaking, I rarely remember what I did in my selfs and this one is no exception. I don't really do my selfs in a step-by-step, "look at how clever I can be," way, keeping notes. I'm usually feeling exactly what the image shows you while creating these things. Looks like I inverted this at some stage but that's the best I can tell you! Thanks for asking and I know that this is more than you wanted to know but I get alot of mail asking, "how and why," I do this or that image so I thought I'd get to that while I was at it. =)

peter, thank you very much for your commentary on this one and for the award. it really means alot to me coming from you. thanks. =)

Thanks to everyone for looking and commenting. =)

Oh, by the way, there is a wonderful tool in PS3 (liquify) than can raise the lips and make them smile a bit, give it a go

Thank you, James. This one is about emotional abuse so a smile wouldn't fit. =)
