That curled petal, combined with the shallow depth of field, gives this a dance-like feeling of movement. Beautiful.

that was my first thought, a dancing flower/looks like the petals are blowing in the wind - whereas the truth is Rig A Mortis had set in by the time I took the shot - LOL

Beautiful shot Sue and love the delicate colours and fine detail and patterns.
I like the couple of soft blurry petals, but I would personally have preferred just a touch more DOF so that all the details of the head are sharp (had to look it up, but I think I'm referring to the anthers)

This goes to prove that flowers don't need to be in prime condition to make a good subject, a great image well lit and composed.
