Time to Fly

By MossyOak
Time to Fly sums it up.
Those who know me, know I will always be honest about a photograph, sadly some on here if you say a bad thing take it as bullying and would rather discuss health and social issues than photography, so I feel now is the time to fly to better pastures.
I have learnt a great deal on here in the 6 years I have been uploading and thank all those who are serious about improving and helping others rather than bitching.
I may well pop back every now and again to keep tabs on my good friends and to check my messages.

Cheerio, and thanks to the Ephotozine Team for their help and always being on the fence Wink

Remember to comment on the Photo and not Aunt Adie's poor leg Tongue Yep clipped the wing on this one, I know.

For me the clipped wing does not detract from the shot. Love that face and wing movement. Great shot. Moira

what a beautiful face.

this is a very dynamic shot, must have been tricky to focus fast enough Smile
Pity about the wing but that is secondary.

Great shame, hope to catch up again sometime. Love the face, the wing does not matter.

Wow. What a super photograph. Personnally I'm not bothered about the clipped wing. I don't think it detracts from this picture one bit.

I'm sorry to learn that your off. I for one shall miss your photographs and comments. I wish you all the best in pastures green and hope you will indeed pop back from time to time.

Very best wishes,

James

Richard, I will really miss you on Ephotozine, I have always found your feedback accurate and with the best intention. I know you have been struggling with some aspects of this site and admire your authenticity to step away.

I will catch up on other sites and probably out in the field, it is a real shame you are leaving but I totally understand

Strangely enuff and after a few heated words on epz between the two of us, I have to admit I will miss your posts and comments but having said that I could not get used to the newer Richard of latter weeks. I am sure I will bump into you somewhere along the line - whatever it is you have decided to do and where you will settle goodness knows but all the best. Methinks you will be back and not just to pick up your messages eitherWink

I am sure we will still meet from time to time Richard. Great shot of the Owl with stunning focus on the eyes and face. Wing clip is of no consequence.

Superb in-flight capture, Richard - great POV and excellent purposeful expression with direct eye contact. The clipped wing doesn't even come into the equation.

I understand fully where you are coming from (as we have often discussed this) and I admire the fact that you are as up front with your explanation for leaving, as you have always been with your genuine critique of the work of others. I am grateful to EPZ for having given me the opportunity of meeting you and grateful to you for all the generous help you have given me over the past 3 years, with my wildlife photography and also practical help in setting up my feeding station.

Fortunately I don't have to say goodbye to you, as I shall continue to enjoy and look forward to our togging days together, often in the company of other good EPZ friends Smile I shall also continue to enjoy your super work in other sites.

When I joined EPZ 4 years ago it was a serious photographic site, but sadly now seems to be evolving into a social networking site, which isn't what I am looking for either Sad

Lovely head on image Richard and one that's not easy to achieve.
Sorry to see you've decided to leave the site, you've posted some really good images whilst you've been on here.
I've seen many of your comments and really can't think of one i may have dissagreed with, they were honest and to the point. When i joined the site a little over five years ago it was called constructive criticism and was quite welcome, it was one way we benefitted from other peoples expertise, it helped us to improve.
It seems things have changed and so has the site, it seems more like Facebook at times.
I wish you all the best with your photography.

Graham.

Best of luck Richard.
I expect we will cross swords somewhere along the line.Wink

Fully agree - all of those descriptions not related to the image should be in the members Blog. I don't care if Grannies lost her wooden leg or the cats been sick all night or Uncle George is coming to stay but if people want to tell it to the world the Blog is the place for it.
That's it for now my piles are playing up.Grin

Many thanks to those trusty and honest friends with the guts to comment and say their views. To the other 250 odd who looked, well doesn't that just sum it all up.
Have to go now as the kettle is boiling Wink

Glad to hear that you have had a change of heart Richard, your work is an inspiration to many on here, myself included. I appreciate your honesty, constructive criticism and valued input that you bring to this site. It makes a refreshing change from some of the banal commments many post on here! This is a terrific head on shot where the bird is homing in on its target
