Where to start?

Fishing boat off the north Cornish coast (somewhere between Newquay and St Ives). Converted the blues to greys in PS, and burned a bit of the sea at the horizon to improve contrast with the sky. Not happy with the sky; it was a hazy day and just looks like a blurry area. Any ideas?

Like the simplicity of this shot. You could try cropping the sky off altogether - I think that could be effective and make it quite abstracty.

Like the idea - perhaps would have worked better if the boat was heading out into the vast empty space?

Thanks for your comments. I've tried flipping the boat as suggested, and doing something with the sky. (see next pic). If that still looks wrong I'll try cropping the sky altogether (although I do quite like the 'skinny' width of the current ratio, as it enhances the small size of the boat.)
