I love it when the light plays tricks and you end up with a mono image - great atmosphere coming from that sky Keith. Smile

Good shot Keith, but it begs many questions however ?
Do you prefer Latte or Americano coffee ?
Do you prefer white or brown sugar in it ?
Do you agree that the homemade cake is better, rather than the pre-packed stuff they get in ?
And most important off all.Do you leave a tip on the table ?
Mick.
I thought it was a mono image but on closer inspection I realised it had colour, a great image with real atmosphere.

had to look again to see the colour as you say Nik, also love the way the clouds go into a v shape towards the hills. Lovely and fresh by looks of things

Not got a mono look for me - browns/greens/yellows/reds in fg and the hills in the bg - perhaps a monitor problem.Wink
Nice shot BTW.

I took a not dissimilar shot down at Loch Lomond yesterday and although of course it was also recorded in colour, the result is almost B and W: shooting directly into the light at this time of year with a low sun robs much of the colour from the scene, although as Brian says there is still some residual colour retained.
But a very atmospheric image it is with those low clouds sweeping over the Lake and fells, unloading their cargo of moisture on the way.
Beautiful photography from a spot we know so well.

I always prefer cloudy skies to blue ones, adds so much more atmosphere to an image. - gary

I thought it was B/W at first glance and then saw the green of the hills and the foreground detail. The break in the clouds has given lovely light.
