Zawadi Mungu

By mrjes
He's the magnificent 7 year old lion at the Oregon Zoo. His name means "Gift of God." He shares his substantial and thoughtfully designed enclosure with a pair of lionesses whom we're hoping he'll mate with. All three were born in captivity however and this I'm told sometimes makes them less likely to actually perform the procreative act due to their not having ever observed it in the wild. I have seen him expressing some obvious interest in one of the females though, so we remain hopeful at this point.

Hi Sam, Zawadi Mungu? Bit of a mouthful, just call my cat Tom! Seriously, I'm enjoying looking at this. I thought I'd put a fairly good pair of eyes on yesterday but I think you've beat me! Regards, Si.

Many thanks for your clicks and comments. Whenever I visit the zoo I always come away with a dozen or more (usually many more) images of him. He's truly magnificent.
