African Wildlife/Nature. All Photography

By mrjt
Hi All, Again thanks for viewing, your comments really make this site, be they good or not so good. The Galleries out there are top class....Jack. Now as they say.For some thing quite different. I think more fun but still AFRICAN WILDLIFE.
The Oxpecker Birds. Two species, The Red-billed and The Yellow-billed. They are considered to be semi-parasitic.They forage in small flocks on large mammals eating ticks, fleas and flies but also consuming wound tissue, blood and secretions. Not a nice way of having your dinner.......Jack

What a great shot to capture....already he is getting the skin problem sorted, and looks as if he is waiting for the dentist. Beautifully captured shot with excellent detail....not always easy to get right with such a dark subject.

Well, this is a really great capture Jack but the explanation must be read not before the lunch Wink
I just wanted to appreciate the second portrait (oxpecker) and after reading your text i changed my mind, these oxpeckers must be vampires man!
However, the picture is excellent and the introduction well composed!

I think this is wonderful. Not only do you have a close detailed and well exposed image of the beast, but a wonderful expression, composition and dof. There is also a beautifully natural symmetry with the horns and ears. I have to give it my UA.
