A Joke Between Friends

By MrsMad
Playing with my new lights I asked my mother, Grace (the one on the right) and her friend Beryl to pose for me. They were good models as they did what they were told and enjoyed a joke during this session. This is how they are most of the time, laughing over something or other. They have been friends for many years and enjoy life to the full.
I have used the healing tool just a little on their faces and reduced the sharpening on the grey parts of their hair.
Comments/critique welcome.

As this was taken the first time you had your lights out and before you had your studio session I think you have done well.

The light is perhaps a little on the strong side, but you have certainly put them at ease and captured a totally natural photo.

I think you should start a series, entitled 'The Settee'. Smile

I'm not a fan of portraiture but occasionally one grabs my attention and this is one of them. Probably because it reminds me of my dear departed Nan who also had a ready smile and loved a good laugh. Excellent picture that got me thinking and reminiscing. Well done. Maybe lose the frame though?

I think I know these ladies, lol.

Robbie, a wonderful image, the lighting looks great and to me at least, quite natural. Wonderful expressions on their faces, and a great relaxed informal image.

Nice work.

Hi all

Thanks for looking and your comments. I decided to try a different frame. Thanks for the mods.

Yes, you know these ladies Anthony, you have not been around for a while, hope all is well with you and yours.

Considering it was before I had my training session with the lights Fran I am pleased with the photo.
