I have been taking photographs for nearly sixty years now, most of that time without really thinking much about it. Since joining EPZ I have learned a terrific amount. The site has made me more focused, more self-critical. But equally important is the contact with a whole community of good people, who would never bump into each other in 'real' life.
There have been several major developments since I arrived here:
I now volunteer as Community Photographer for our little town. There's a terrific amount happening here, and it's usually down to a few dedicated volunteers working their socks off. Events fly past in a whirl of frantic activity. And afterwards someone might say 'That was brilliant, did anyone remember to get some pictures?'. That's my job...
I am also now running a U3A (University of the Third Age) Digital Photography group, along with my Better Half Bill.
In 2013 I was delighted and honoured to be invited onto the site's Critique Team. Now that I have found my feet there I enjoy helping others to explore this wonderful obsession.
It's ePHOTOzine that has given me the skills, self-confidence and motivation to do all this, I have received so much advice and help and I am immensely grateful to everyone here.
