For those of you who have been following the construction of our new Library...
Brand new books were delivered last week, around twice as many as the old library stocked. (The old books will be redistributed around the County's other libraries). Some very classy looking hardware arrived as well.
Opening to the public next week, we'll be there...
V1 is more impressionistic, V2 & V3 are more standard reportage I guess.
Thanks to everyone who visited my portfolio while we were away. I tried to keep track of what was happening on the site but I think Welsh broadband is powered courtesy of a little man shovelling nutty slack into a steam engine somewhere...
Thanks for looking,

V2 for me Moira, lovely capture of the clear perspex and the background is sufficiently blurred not to dominate, but clear enough to give context.

I'm glad the little man hasn't given up his day job WinkWink
v1 for me here Moira SmileSmile

V3 for me, what a mountain of work Smile

I love the smell of new books! So, a whole library full of them? I'm there!
Those computers look snazzy too!
Did you have a nice break?
Pub booked btw!

Version 2 for me Moira - excellent!

Thanks early birds - it's good to be back.
I should add that the colour version of V3 is one of a set of pictures that will form the basis of a feature in the Newcastle Journal at some point in the next couple of weeks - but we don't yet know precisely what will be printed.

Very nice image well taken.

Its nice to shave been on this journey with you, three great mono's.

Wonderfully clear b/w images. No messing about, superbly strong tones, and interesting content well composed.

A nice little story teller Moira.

Great photographic journalism, backed up with a great narrative.

Regards Nathan

How lucky you are with those stacks of new books! So, I am more inclined to praise V3, not only for photographic reasons, Moira. Great and joyful photo journalism!

Nice to see you back Moira, and thank you so much for your gift of your award.
I was wondering how the library was getting on,so now I know here.
I am actually developing a fondness for mono,so good set here.
And I think a pic' of that little man shovelling his nutty slack in the steam engine,
would have made an excellent mono shot too !!

Seeing all the abbreviations on the side of the boxes reminds me of an old Bob Monkhouse story: "I picked up a book entitled How to Love, only to discover it was volume 6 of an encyclopedia." Wink

Good reportage.

The library will open its doors soon then. How nice to have all new books. Great shots..............Sandy

I bet that lady's had one heck of a job sorting and stacking all those books! Welcome back, Moira, and with a great set, too Smile Think V2's my fave Wink

Good to see that this journey is nearing a successful conclusion. It seems like only yesterday the first images of the demise of the old library were being presented to us, Moira. This has been a fascinating on-going report from you and mr. wooly.
Look forward to the ending.

'Three Superb & optimally toned, rendered, & composed monochrome reportage Images,' Moira~

v2, then v3, are my favorites, today~~ Smile

Looks to be a very nice Computer Monitor or dedicated 'Combined Unit '(does not look like an i Mac?? No Apple Logo. Which computer maker is your Library going with?? Just 'food for thought~).

This will be great to look back on in the future. Paul

A color version is solicited.

A very good continuation of the Saga Moira, but one Day there will nothing but a couple of Tables and a bank of Kindles Smile

Welcome back Smile

I really love V1 here, Moira. That shiny back and little glints from the metal.

You know what? I'd actually forgotten about the library! Bah. So glad you uploaded these.
