Between here and there

By mrswoolybill
I was tempted to enable modifications as someone may wish to correct the verticals in the fence...
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Wonderful composition Moira. My kind of thing

I suppose if you'd really wanted the verticals vertical you'd have ensured that they were, courtesy of 3 seconds with the "skew" feature in PS. My only gripe is that I find it too big on the screen... I think it would look better smaller. But I'm funny that way.

Otherwise it's right up my street, along my avenue, connects with my close and teases my terrace.
And Alfred seems happy enough.

Thanks Alan / Alfred. I think this would have needed Liquify rather than Skew...
I wanted it to fill the screen. But then I'm funny that way.

A very well chosen composition, Moira and your processing has lifted the image to something special.

Right. You originally said "correct the verticals," but now you've changed it to "wonky slat," so that my comment suddenly becomes nonsensical. In my own best interests I really should learn to keep my mouth shut.Sad

Sorry, I realised that I had understated the problem. Original wording is now reinstated.

Moira: you mean they're not vertical?🤓
Alan: since when did size matter to you?Tongue
Kilroy says vertical is an overrated state and that size is relative...

DoF, textural detail and tonal work make for an excellent image

nice wonky fence with super textures in the wood, and the hint of untamed chaos behind it. Nicely seen and processed Moira.

Only when replying ( I talk ) to you, Malc, when I need to consider ( think of ) the longest ( most big )words I should use that you might still be able to understand ( know wot it means ).

Lovely close up textures of the fence Moira and obviously B/W is the only choice.

Have a lovely day.

You would expect an old fence, of this type, to be a bit askew! Lovely mono tones and dare I say it "A well filled frame, Moira"

Thanks to Leo and Tony for he UAs, to Malc and Alan for the very entertaining sideshow, and to everyone who has called in this morning.
I nearly added colour as a version, but decided against it.

Great frame filler, love this, the wonky fence is just right. Sorry I've run out of awards.

I was tking it that the verticals as they appear are truthful to the original so are already 'correct' and don't need adjusting. Wonky is more appealing here.
That's just reminded me of back in the old days of analog TV, adjusting the Horizontal and Vertical Hold...

I might be good at Photoshop, but those verticals would take some straightening! 😁 But never mind the verticals, the textures are wonderful 😃👍

i like how your foreground interacts with the background in DOF.
it is a nice play that gives a certain dynamics to the whole image.
my eye is going back and forth all the time and frustratingly i cannot view both at the same time

That's how our eyesight operates in the 'real world', but we are largely unaware of it...
