Breakfast for one

By mrswoolybill
Cards on table, I’m rather pleased with this one. Taken in a café near Covent Garden. I noticed the artwork last year but had to wait until this year’s visit to get a composition. The waitress knew what I was doing and was trying very hard to keep a straight face.
And yes, there’s a b&w conversion to follow at some point in the future, but I want to keep them separate.
Thanks to everyone who clicked and commented on yesterday’s upload. We were out all day, and I’m out most of today as well - I’ll get some time on the site eventually...
Thanks for looking,

Thanks to everyone who's called in this fine morning - well it is here, which is as well as I have to go and photograph some gardeners at the community allotments. Rende, I'm afraid I didn't photograph the waitresses, but I'm sure I shall be back there next spring Wink

Beautifully constructed - a painting within a painting.

Hope the pan didn't fall off the wall where he's sitting. It happened to a friend of mine recently. Only it was a Roman plaque that landed in her lap.

I agree with Di, from the thumnail I thought it was a mirror !
I know how he feels to breakfast alone, but he looks happy enough, super shot, love the tones.
Have a great day !

Couldn't understand what I thought was a reflection. at first glance I think this is tremendous but it could be improved immensly if you had waited until the waitress had cleared away his dirty plate.Ithink the title would have still held. I will leave it for you to decide whether or not to clone it.

Just returned from Glasgow, and the the ''rusty Scotsman'' will be getting his joints well ''oiled'' tonight after some encouraging news !! Will tell you when it is confirmed next week !!
Agree with Rende about the waitress. Some of us would like to see her, instead of guys with receding hairlines !! Like your comp' here.
Another good spot. But you are rather good at the ''spots'' Moira.
You beat me to a couple yesterday.!!

Wonderful candid Moira - the composition is perfect and the overall result was certainly worth the re-visit. I think this works beautifully as a colour image - it just feels so warm and full of life - but I'm sure you'll do wonders in the b&w version as well - can't wait! Smile

Good things are worth waiting for!! If this lone diner was just one seat out it would have ruined this excellent capture. Love it, I’ve no hesitation giving this shot my weekly award because it really works for me and it‘s also refreshingly different. Extremely well spotted and done.
