Custodians of the cottage 2

By mrswoolybill
A b&w conversion of one of my favourite pictures from last year. These characters guarded our holiday cottage near Cromer and the shades were already in place, I promise!
When I uploaded this is colour there were various suggestions for the inspiration - Hale & Pace, the Blues Brothers. I just prefer to think of the county’s motto - Norfolk ‘n good.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

The set of the shoulders and the jaw thrust forward looks very Churchillian. B/w very appropriate to his era.

Thanks everyone and good morning to you. I hadn't thought of this as Churchillian...
There were only the two, but I like the idea of a posse waiting in the shadows.

Carol, it's the chorus of a song by Sid Kipper, a Norfolk entertainer (comic monologues and spoof folk songs). We went down for his annual show on Cromer Pier and he ended with Norfolk 'n Good. As we were walking out I heard the vicar who was sitting behind us say 'I think we'll have that as first hymn tomorrow'.

A terrific image. I do like the viewpoint you've used here which adds so much to the story rather than just a head-on shot.

Very interested to see the Counties motto Moira. Now I know why that woman told me to leave her shop when I asked her is she had any fork 'n' knives !! Liked this one last time I saw it and they still remind me of these two bouncers I see outside one of the pubs here !!

Excellent DOF, subject isolation in an effective position in the image frame, & optimal gray-scale tonal gradations. Artistic work, here, Moira. Have a wonderful fair-weather Weekend.
