Drifting away

By mrswoolybill
The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, plus the Millennium footbridge...
The Tyne was perfectly still, then a fish leapt creating the most amazing long, jagged ripples. By the time I had my camera out they had settled to this.
Another few seconds and breeze ruffled the surface.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

You're still faster on the shutter than me Moira - I'd still be thinking, 'Oo that would make a good pic' several minutes after it had disappeared Grin

Great capture - love it Grin

Thanks again folks, and thanks to Nev for his award.
I will admit to feeling quietly rather pleased with this one.

Just the sort of image I am often on the lookout for: wonderful reflection, and in a very attractive composition with the bridge arcing towards top left of frame.

My fist thought went immediately to one of the planes flying into the WTC in 2001...
Strange how we all see things differently.

Thanks again, and thanks Peter for your UA.

That's an interesting idea, because I definitely see the bridge moving away from the building. The eyes play tricks, so can emotion and memory.
You'll have to come and check it out for yourself... Wink

I thought it was the Baltic Centre even just looking at a rippled reflection. nice one, though you could probably kick yourself for missing the 'perfect' reflection. On balance I think I'd prefer this one anyway Smile

Wonderfully taken superb image of reflection. I had written the following to comment on Dave's (WhiteRose1) image "Paddington Bare". Now I cannot help repeating it here, Moira:
Reminds me Michael Hamburger's poem called "Paddington Canal" which I translated into Turkish and published with a few others from him.. I can only quote a few lines from the poem.

Of a reversed Atlantis wisely built
To catch and to transform
The wasted substance of our daily acts,
Accommodate our mad and lovely doubles
In a more graceful city timelessly.
