Another of the West Road Cemetery volunteers. I won't repeat the whole of yesterday's story, but until a few years ago this abandoned cemetery was an impenetrable jungle.
Ed is one of the dedicated volunteers who have gradually brought the site back to life, which may be an odd way of expressing work on a graveyard but it is true.
I am visiting them again today, the deadline for a community slide-show is looming.
Thanks for looking,

Well done Ed. Smile

Wednesday is volunteer day at my local country park, a great bunch of mainly 'a certain age' individuals who get a lot of pleasure from the feeling of being a part of something good and creating something for the benefit of others. Good fun too, with much banter and mickey taking! Grin

Same here, litter-picking first, then the cemetery. It divides the week nicely...

one of the greatest gifts a volunteer can give is his/her time..

He looks about ready for a nice cup of tea, and maybe a Jammy Dodger.

Must say a lot about me that I actually love excellent images in graveyards! This is an excellent portrait Moira, no two ways about it. Lovely composition and any post work is subtle and well done.

Hope the whole thing comes together well.

Moira, a wonderfully posed and processed image. GE award on way.
The lighting and tonal range couldn't be better.

However, he needs a bigger spade to prepare the ground for the next customer
