New Love 2

By mrswoolybill
This tree is the new love of my life. Last time I visited him I took 58 shots. Just of one dead tree. Thank God for epz, without it to keep us occupied some of us would have been locked up by now.
Heís well and truly dead, but new life is springing up from the decay. V1 shows a little fern that has taken root in the rotting wood. I wanted to isolate a tiny prig of green from the surroundings, not sure if Iíve maybe overdone it.
V2 is for the find-the-face coterie.
V3 reminded me of a birdís skull when I was taking it, looking at it on the screen I find it a wee bit worrying.
If you have time, please view Large.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Why shoot it 58 times when it's already dead Moira? Some people would call that labouring a point...
4 more great shots!

Lucy always makes me laugh.
I see all the things you do, and the face looks like a cat or dog.
What I find interesting is that you are examining this new love so intricately. Apart from new life springing from the dead tree, remember just how much "wildlife" there will be deep within its body, sleeping, munching, burrowing and generally making good use of the carcass.

Thanks to everyone. We've had a brilliant day, met up with Dave (davidhu) & Shena Humphreys who are enjoying the delights of Northumberland in spring... Got back to find a mammoth translation job, plus computer going slow because Norton is doing a spring-clean. So sorry, very few comments at present!

Well the majority verdict is #1 and I have to admit to being in there with them. Its the lovely thought of nature doing what it does best and of course the splash of colour adds to that shot, the scaly bark caught my eye too.
I must be missing the suggestive one you mentioned in your p.s yesterday but then my eyes are tired as I got CS3 installed yesterday and I have been like a kid with a new toy looking at all the clever and creative tools. That said I may be a while learning what to do with them.
