Hi. Thanks for the comments. I took thE picture to be the sea, and a yacht in it to add interest. I tried the 'rule of thirds' but it didn't work. There was too much space. I placed it slightly off centre to give it a feeling of journey. I didn't want to increase the size of the yacht because that isn't the subject of the picture, the sea and sky is the subject and I thought to increase the size of the yacht would detract from the tones of the sea and sky.

I believe in Tocketts comments about looking at the rules but sometimes it's necessary or better to break them. As someone once said to me. 'Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools'.

But that's the beauty of photography (and art generally) . It's subjective and each person interprets the message in their own way......

Excellent! I'm just off to attack the missus with a tin of Dulux - see if I can get the same effect!

For my two cents, as an equestrian photographer and rider, the timing is perfect.

Hi I like the shot. Its nice to see a natural shot without PS, airbrushing or any thing else that makes the model look like an air stewardess, covered in ultraglow and under a 500 watt bulb!

    Hi

Have you thought about converting the image into black and white and tweek it abit? Might give it more 'punch' (if you excuse the pun!).

Good use of a fast shutter speed. I love it!
