It's funny - the thumbnail doesn't do this justice at all. The larger version looks awesome (thank god you finally joined e2!), you can see all the details and the toning is lovely. Congrats on the image and the new grand-daughter Smile

Awesome portrait. They and you must be so happy with this. Did you consider having an all black bg (instead of the door) ?

Great picture, would be nicer though if the background is without a visible door (the lines of the curtain are fine).
Congratulations!!!

Large version is a must see for sure. Love the simplified colours in this; very effective and conveys the sentiment perfectly.

Could be viewed as a sinister image given the child's expression. But! I see it as a father bonding with his daughter by singing a gentle song. If you look it's there. Not sure what you were going for though.

Welcome to e2.

Martin.

Even without the full-on manipulation you can still tell it's your image. A beautiful capture - you can see the father's love.
Thanks for the large version too!
Nic
[Edit: My thanks makes it sound like I've stolen your image...that wasn't what I meant!]

I love this pic and would like to try something similar. Can you advise as to your lighting technique? The skin tones are just amazing. Amazing portfolio too.

thanks again. twister, it was done with a 300w softbox placed high and to the left, at a 45 degree down angle. there was also a gold reflector out front, about twice the distance from subject as the light source.
