A Plant of Some Sort

This wee plant was growing in a wood near where I live in Ayrshire, atop an old sandstone wall. It was less than 1cm across. I have no idea what it is (anyone?) Unfortunately, I didn't have my film cameras with me at the time so I had to use my much unappreciated digital one (which I wish I never bought...)

I love the way the low winter sun was backlighting it. The macro lens has done a pretty good job, but I do find focus difficult to achieve on LCD panels and viewfinders.

This picture makes lovely desktop wallpaper if you are into that sort of thing.

Its fantastic, you did very well considering you're not happy with the camera. Love the dof, and the fact there is another in the background. Great lighting too - well spotted.

Thanks, ewan! Maybe just a little more dof would have been great, but considering what I could see on the LCD, I'm a happy chappy. I think it's quite important the second plant is totally blurred; quite pleased with that.

No idea what it is (in my ignorance I'd call it a moss!) but it's a great close-up and the depth of field is just right for this type of image.
