Landscape with Red Flowers

By n.j.bailey
Can you see them yet? Smile

Just out for a walk in Ayrshire near home, and saw this meandering stream with the light covering of snow on the ground. Shame about the telegraph wires and the dumped rubbish...

Amazingly, there were some red buds on the tree, even in the depth of winter.

The only camera I had with me was the Sony digital (which I hate) but the huge lens is at least good in that it has very little chromatic aberation compared with some. It would have really been shown up badly here.

Digitally manipulated to clone out a telegraph pole and some wires, and cool the white balance slightly. But this is a "full colour" shot!

Thanks, guys!

I did "enhance" the flowers, but it just looked tacky. It's one of those shots that doesn't look good in the thumbnail. Wish I'd've had a film camera with me. Suspect 5MPx wasn't really enough either Smile

More than enough for a monitor, though Smile
