Killearn war Hospital

Killearn Hospital was one of five commisioned in 1938 in preparation for the war. Building started in 1939 and also complete in 1941 in time for the air raids on Clydebank and other Clydeside towns, which could be seen and heard in Killearn.

The Derelict Buildings are remnants of Killearn Hospital, built during WWII - 400-bed emergency hospital, last used 1972. Proposed redevelopment as leisure complex came to nothing in 1979

This site has been lying in ruins for so long and the remaining buildings are just decaying away. You have captured the decay so well in this shot.
It bringsback memories for me.......I used ton travel out here in my undergraduate days for Orthopaedic training, and my fellow student who ran a few of us out from the Western in Glasgow was Sir Kenneth Calman.

A great image , the HDR tone compression is perfect for the subject. i can almost smell the timber and damp rubble!
