Taiko Drummer

This was taken at a concert in London where Japan's National Treasure Grand Master Seiichi Tanaka was performing (this isn't him).
The strange effect on the drumsticks was caused by interaction of the lights with the camera sensor, it hasn't been manipulated.

Love the movement of the sticks, shows the power and strength of the drummers. Shame the top of the drum is a little burnt out...stage lighting I suppose!

I love this type of drumming.
I wasn't able to get any shots of the Toa drummers playing in Edinburgh this year (I was in too obvious a spot and the stewards were too attentive).
