Nice capture of this Red Admiral, Nathan: we seem to have a dearth of butterflies around our way (even with plants in the garden they are said to favour) so when I see one it's a real treat. But I can enjoy them vicariously through images others like yourself post.

The only ones we ever have are just plain white boring ones. Not beautiful like this one. Must be hard for you to bend and get into the position one needs to, to capture these flighty butterflies. But this is excellent so you did it.

Oh so cleverly captured Nathan. Even when I see one in the garden they are too
fast for me. The plain old white ones are ‘cabbage moths’ here and they too can
be very flighty…...WinkWinkWink

An excellent capture, Ronnie, perfect colours. The admirals here are very tatty and tired looking. Carol

Well done you on spotting and photographing a red admiral Nathan, they have been a real rarity this year. I have only seen one or two and that was back in March!
