Shadows at Plas Yn Rhiw

By netta1234
Some shadows today from Plas Yn Rhiw.
Sorry I did not see all your images last night ,Had an early night, with a verry bad throat.

Thank's to Lynne Joyce for pointing out that the gate was not straight.
I dont know if this look's any better,as I admit that I am not good at all to see things straight

Nice image but it needs a bit of adjustment to get the gate vertical.

A splendid shadow and colours - interesting scrolling between the two images as the gate is vertical in v2, but the wall of the garage goes out of sink - so I'm not sure which works best - but its the shadow that gets my vote anyway SmileSmileSmile

V2 has the gate perfectly vertical but the other building skewed. If you have Photoshop you can use the Free Transform command with the command key held down on an Apple Mac, I presume the control key on a PC (though I never touch PC's) to move individual corners to get the perspective right.

Both have great shadows and yes when gate straight - buildings skewed but then would this not be what it looked like from where you were.Smile

I think V1 works just fine and I'm sure you don't want to faff around straightening buildings.
It's a lovely scene and great shadows.

I think the gate is probably not crooked but a figment of ones imagination, the cottages are not straight either and I wonder if this is how the picture is as you saw it - if within easy traveling it might be worth revisiting or putting this up for mods see how others handle the processing. I am sure you know this but worth remembering when taking this kind of shot, not to point the camera upward but try and keep it straight. Would love to have a go but your not close by and I am not up to travellingSad its a good country sceneSmile

I rather like v1. I just assumed it was how the gate really was given the hilly terrain. Rather charming, with a very fine shadow.

The gate looks so much better in V2, Netta, but in order to keep the building just as straight, you need Perspective Correction, but it may be called something else in your editing programme. I think the image is worth giving a little TLC to, it's such an attractive scene.
